FRC Application

Candidate Requirements

FRC's mission to to provide quality spiritual support to those in crisis and need. In order to meet this mission, FRC offers training and certification to offer chaplaincy ministry opportunities through First Responder Chaplains.

For those interested in becoming a First Responder Chaplain, the following items are required:

• Fill out application to be a member of the First Responder Chaplain Association

• Letter of recommendation from your pastor

• Two separate references from persons who know you as a Christian and person

• A photocopy of your driver’s license

• Complete FRC training of Level I, commit to complete Level II within 2 years. Click Here for Training Information.

• A digital photo for ID. (Taken in class or send it by email to  info@irstresponderchaplains.org).

• A complete current resume

• Photocopies of any completed training certificates

• State Police background check (instructions below)

• Annual membership dues are $50 payable to First Response Chaplains. Pay either by sending a check or pay on-line through our PayPal account. (coming soon)

Application & Background Check

To apply to First Responder Chaplains, simply go to our Online Application.

Please complete ALL items requested on the form, save and print the form and return it to FRC Chaplains at info@firstresponderchaplains.org.

All FRC applicants must complete a background check from the Michigan State Police. Background checks may be retained from any Michigan State Police Post or on-line. The State of Michigan charges a $10.00 fee for this service,

• Go to the Michigan State Police ICHAT Home Page at http://apps.michigan.gov/ichat/home.aspx.

• Click on the "Background Search" link in the left navigation column.

• Sign in or set up an ICHAT account as required.

• FOLLOW THE PROMPTS, enter your payment.

• Print the application form twice, sending one to FRC and one for your records.

• Include a copy of the report with your completed FRC application form.

• FRC will respond within 48 hours to notify you they have received your application materials.
